CardToWallet

How can we help?

A few simple steps to keep your cards and QR codes handy. Contact QR creation applies to version 1.2.

Add and use a card

  1. Open CardToWallet and tap + → Scan or enter card, then choose Scan card.
  2. Hold the entire barcode inside the camera view in good light. You can also enter a card number manually.
  3. Name the card, optionally add a logo or background photo, and save.
  4. Open the saved card and choose Show at scanner, or tap Add to Apple Wallet and confirm the Wallet preview.

Edit or delete a card

Swipe left on a card in the main screen to reveal Edit and Delete. Tap Delete to review the confirmation before removing the card. Tapping a card opens it; you can also find Edit card and Delete card in its menu.

Create and share a QR code

  1. Tap + → Create QR code and choose Wi-Fi, Website, Contact, or Text.
  2. Enter the details and an optional name. Names can be up to 40 characters; QR text can be up to 512 characters. Some emoji and other characters take more space, so the app may ask you to shorten very large text. For Wi-Fi, use the exact network name and password.
  3. Tap Save to keep the code in your card stack, or choose Share QR image from the preview.
  4. Open a saved QR card to show the code or share its image. In the share sheet, choose a destination or Save to Files.

The shared image includes the card name and a matching label and icon above the code. A Wi-Fi code includes the password, so share it with people you trust.

Enable the app lock

Open … → Settings → Require Face ID. On other devices, the option may say Touch ID or Device Unlock. Your iPhone will ask you to unlock before changing this setting. The lock is off by default, and your iPhone passcode is available as a fallback.

When the lock is on, unlock to view your cards when opening the app or returning from another app. Your cards are also covered in the app switcher. Shared images and cards in Apple Wallet are managed separately.

Common questions

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account is required. Saved cards can be displayed, QR codes created, and QR images generated in the app offline. Sending an image through another service may require a connection. Creating an Apple Wallet pass requires an internet connection and a supported physical iPhone.

Why won’t my card scan?

Use good lighting, avoid glare, and keep the whole barcode visible. Move the camera slightly closer or farther away. Allow camera access for CardToWallet in iPhone Settings. The current release supports Code 39, Code 128, QR, Aztec, and PDF417; other formats and some barcode variants are not supported.

Why does the reader reject my digital card?

Some readers cannot scan phone screens or only accept the original barcode format. Increase screen brightness and display the full barcode. For wide barcodes, rotate your phone if the app requests it. On older iOS versions, Wallet may use a compatible barcode format; try Show at scanner in CardToWallet to display the original. Card issuer restrictions can also affect acceptance.

Keep your physical card until you have tested the digital version. The app cannot copy NFC/RFID chips or rotating security codes.

Why can’t I add a card to Apple Wallet?

Check your internet connection and try again on your iPhone. We check each request to keep the service running safely. If you have made several attempts, wait before retrying. If the problem continues, email us with the exact error message.

Avoid deleting the app as a troubleshooting step: doing so can remove your saved cards.

Why does my Wallet pass look different?

Apple Wallet controls the pass layout. Card colors and artwork are adapted to its supported image areas, so the result can differ from the card shown in the app.

How do I remove my data?

Delete a saved card or QR code in CardToWallet to remove it from the app. Remove Wallet passes and images saved or shared elsewhere separately. Device backups are managed through your Apple settings. Deleting a card does not delete service security records; see the privacy policy for details.

Can I add a created QR code to Apple Wallet?

Wi-Fi, website, contact, and text codes can be shown in CardToWallet or shared as images. Add to Apple Wallet is available for supported scanned cards.

Why won’t a Wi-Fi QR code connect?

Check the network name, password, and security selection. WPA/WPA2 Personal, WEP, and open networks are supported; enterprise and WPA3-only networks are not. Enable Hidden network if needed. The receiving device must support joining Wi-Fi from a QR code and be within range of the network.

Do edits update Wallet passes and shared images?

Save your edits in CardToWallet. To update a supported card in Wallet, tap Add to Apple Wallet again. To share a revised QR image, use Share QR image again. Previously saved or shared images do not change.

What if Face ID doesn’t work?

Use the system’s passcode option if offered. If you cancel, the app stays locked; tap Unlock to try again. Set up a device passcode in iPhone Settings before enabling the app lock. Avoid deleting the app to resolve a lock issue, as that can remove your saved cards.

Can I use this as an official ID or payment card?

CardToWallet stores supported static barcodes. It does not create official digital identity credentials, payment cards, or new access rights. Use only cards you are authorized to use.

Still need a hand?

Email samearth.net@gmail.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and what happened. Include the error text if available.

Please don’t send your card barcode, membership number, ID document, Wi-Fi password, or private QR code. Hide sensitive details and the entire barcode or QR code in screenshots.
